About IndieDebut and its listings

IndieDebut is an English-language product launch directory for independent makers and small teams. Visitors can explore products by category, read product pages and visit the official websites. Makers can sign in and submit a working product for editorial review.

Reviewed:

What happens to a submission

  1. 1A signed-in maker submits product details. Standard submission is free.
  2. 2The submission remains pending until it is approved or rejected through editorial review.
  3. 3Approved listings become public. Makers can follow the review result in My submissions.

Maker submissions and curated listings

The directory includes products selected by IndieDebut as well as approved maker submissions. A listing does not by itself mean the product’s maker submitted it, has an account here or endorses IndieDebut.

Descriptions and pricing labels help visitors decide what to explore. For current features, plans, licenses and availability, use the official website linked from the product page. Products grouped in the same category are not necessarily direct substitutes.

Submission eligibility and review

Submit one listing per working, publicly available product. Do not resubmit while review is pending. Adult, gambling, crypto-scheme and copycat products are not accepted.

We aim to review submissions within two days. This is an operational target, not a measured average or a guaranteed deadline. Submission does not guarantee approval, homepage prominence or a particular vote count.

Free listings and featured placement

Standard approved listings use a regular link to the product website. A listing with active paid featured placement uses a sponsored link. Paid placement, when offered, is separate from the free submission route.

A featured position is a placement, not an independent product rating. The Top view orders products by votes, and signed-in users can cast or withdraw one vote per product.

What we do not promise

A public listing does not guarantee search indexing, backlinks counted by a search engine, AI recommendations, traffic or sales. Our launch guides are practical decision support, not evidence that a particular channel will produce results for your product.

The startup directory comparison includes IndieDebut itself and discloses that relationship. Its conditions link to official sources and carry a review date; confirm current terms before submitting elsewhere.

About the directory

Does being listed mean a maker endorsed IndieDebut?

No. Listings can be editorial selections or approved submissions. A listing alone is not evidence of maker participation or endorsement.

Does “open source” mean a product has a free hosted plan?

No. Licensing, self-hosting, installation and hosted pricing are separate questions. Check the product’s official website rather than inferring a free hosted service from the open-source label.
